Local Fishing on Waiheke Island

Join a local pro and enjoy a day of great fishing around Waiheke Island in the beautiful Hauraki Gulf. Our target species Snapper, Trevally, Kahawai, John Dory, and Yellow Tail Kingfish all move into the inner harbour over the summer months thus enabling anglers such as yourselves some of the best fishing available all within twenty minutes of Auckland city. During the winter months as the water temperature cools the fish move a little further out to the inner gulf islands and reef structures that make up our beautiful coastline. Not surprisingly, these waters also attract Dolphin, Orca and various other Whales. Southern Ocean bird life can also be seen throughout the year including Albatross, Sooty Shearwaters and Pacific Blue Penguins.
