Fox Glacier Guided Hikes

An experience of a lifetime – a full or half day guided glacier trip, through spectacular icefall terrain, normally seen only by experienced mountaineers. A variety of trips are available to suit all fitness levels. The spectacular Fox Josef Glacier descends to just 250 metres above sea level amidst the greenery and lushness of a temperate rainforest. Flowing almost to sea level, through a temperate rainforest of ancient podocarp trees and other evergreen species makes this combination of ice and temperate rainforest a unique feature of New Zealand’s glacier country, and an ecosystem found nowhere else in the world, presenting you with a spectacular and unique icefall of crevasses, pinnacles, ice caves and canyons to explore.
